Still awaiting confirmation on the launch of the MWH Commemorative Book launch @ NLB. But good news received just this week, one of our photos has been selected for the front cover for the book and also for the ad campaign. I'm obviously excited about it but in a way it is a great way to give back. Through it all, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience working with the NGO and especially staffers and residents.

In other news, I'm looking forward to an advanced studio class in November. Should be really awesome learning experience and it'd be great to meet other pros. Talking about meets.., recently had a get-together with fellow deviants =Timothy-Sim and the ever talented and goofy ^estudio from across the causeway.

Was an impromptu, last minute thingy but it was well worth it. Sharing stories, experiences and jokes about nothings... particularly about "hair in your food, makes it taste unique." We spent the late evening chilling out in town before we made our way across to Little India and later on (well.., much later on) to BT wet market. Felt really refreshing shooting street scenes after all the fluff we do to pay the bills. Gets one back to the roots and recharges the soul. These images are of course still in my HD, awaiting post-process.

Had a really great time with them. Thanks for the invite and I hope we can do it again soon. Also congrats to ^estudio on the adoption of his new family member.., what's his name again? FYI, he has a tail, barks and is in the process of being potty trained.

Before, I put y'all to sleep. Yalnitz teh like (ask $Heidi) take a glance at this round's features at the end of this entry. I hope you find them inspiring and give out some kudos and critiques. It's always good to share a great idea. I'll be posting again soon, hopefully with less fluff and more grit next time. Till then, be sure to keep your equipment safe, shoot hard, shoot long, shoot often and never delete anything..;). I wish you all love. Peace & Assalamualaikum.

Megat Ibrahim was born and raised in Singapore. Pursued a formal education in architecture since 1999 until 2008 and consequently a career in the built environment industry, at which point he had an epiphany and began his transition into photography. He runs a photography business and also freelances from time to time. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring the island state he calls home. Whenever he isn't, he plays the drums, reads and works on improving his craft by shooting personal portfolio photo stories.

Leading up to this, he has ran the gauntlet of genres. Ranging from portrait, landscape, event, architectural, still life photography and recently to fine art prints. He has had training through local establishments such as Objectifs: Centre for Photography and Filmmaking but due to his passion and inquisitive nature, he inevitably became a self-taught photographer. Utilizing his background in aesthetics and design, he strives for better results; constantly learning new methodologies and defining his style. If a picture paints a thousand words, then his images are his echoes.

"Maybe the judgment of whether something is art or not should come from the viewer and not the doer."
