Hello World,

To find what you seek in the road of life,
the best proverb of all is that which says:

"Leave no stone unturned."
Edward Bulwer Lytton

It's official ladies and gents. Avant Garde | Imageworks is open for business. This is a collaborative effort with another deviant, ~freshtake. We are still working on our website launch date and finalizing some other works in the pipeline, so keep an eye out for that.

I will soon be updating our pre-wedding and recent maternity shoots. With a commemorative book project for Muhammadiyah Welfare Home also in the works and feature wall @ their new location, I'm pretty busy these days. Still working on a few details like our namecard design too. Well, enough about work. I did an interview today for a corporate video with LaSalle media students on behalf of MWH. Went as well as to be expected, really nervous though. Haven't spoken in public in a while now; besides, I'm kinda used to being behind the camera.

In the meantime, I hope you guys are all well. Please visit our pre-wed gallery @
Avant Garde | Imageworks. I promise to upload more of our recent stuff as soon as I have the chance.

On the trip that I was SO looking forward to, it has fell through and has been postponed until we can make more concrete plans. Because of the recent passing of my mentor's grandma and our scheduling problems, the trip has to be put on hold. My condolences go out to him and his family. I also found his recent works for Mercy Relief (Mealauboh), after the Tsunami, featured in a music video by local band Electrico Save Our Souls. Take a listen by clicking the link, really great photojournalistic works that I think we all can appreciate.

Anyhoos, you guys can add me on FB.., email add: sparkz@starhub.net.sg. Do check out the links and I'll be will be posting again soon. Till then, be sure to keep your equipment safe, shoot hard, shoot long, shoot often and never delete anything..;). I wish you all love. Peace & Assalmualaikum.

Megat Ibrahim was born and raised in Singapore. Pursued a formal education in architecture since 1999 until 2008 and consequently a career in the built environment industry, at which point he had an epiphany and began his transition into photography. He runs a photography business and also freelances from time to time. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring the island state he calls home. Whenever he isn't, he plays the drums, reads and works on improving his craft by shooting personal portfolio photo stories.

Leading up to this, he has ran the gauntlet of genres. Ranging from portrait, landscape, event, architectural, still life photography and recently to fine art prints. He has had training through local establishments such as Objectifs: Centre for Photography and Filmmaking but due to his passion and inquisitive nature, he inevitably became a self-taught photographer. Utilizing his background in aesthetics and design, he strives for better results; constantly learning new methodologies and defining his style. If a picture paints a thousand words, then his images are his echoes.

"Maybe the judgment of whether something is art or not should come from the viewer and not the doer."

- Alan Babbitt
Fine Art Photographer
